Circular bioeconomy is one of the great topics of our time, and it is becoming more and more relevant. Population growth is rising and the world's resources are being pressured more and more.

What is circular bioeconomy, really?

Circular bioeconomy is the idea of recycling, sustainability and financial responsibility in relation to the resources we have been allocated. This is not just about the producers' economy, but to a large extent about the earth's economy.

Circular bioeconomy means that you produce in such a way that you get the most value out of all sub-steps along the way. The concept contains two things: on one hand bioeconomics and on the other hand circular economy. The EU defines the circular economy as an economic system in which "the value of products, materials and resources is maintained in the economy for as long as possible and waste production is minimized".The definition of bioeconomy in the EU's updated bioeconomy strategy from October 2018 states that: “the bioeconomy covers all sectors and systems that utilize biological resources (animals, plants, microorganisms and derived biomass, including organic waste), their functions and principles.

This is how PERMECO does

In PERMECO, it is a matter of reusing both the cows' manure production several times and reusing the litter. In this way the resources are utilized – and also residual products and all resources for various purposes, so that as little as possible is wasted. PERMECO will compost biomass and degassed manure. This develops dry and solid compost, which is suitable as fertilizer in the fields and can be reused several times as bedding in the cow house.
